Holidays
Over the years, on holiday weekends we’ve explored nearly every mountain range in Ireland. We’ve been on the Mournes, the Comeraghs, the McGillicuddy Reeks and Mweelrea to name but a few. Generally we have the knowledge and expertise ourselves to safely explore these mountains. When the need arises however we employ the services of a local guide to assist.
As well as scaling the high mountains of Ireland we go on at least one foreign trip every year. We’ve had exciting times on mountains in many far flung and exotic places such as:
Romania Transylvanian Alps
Tanzania Kilimanjaro
Greece Mt Olympus and Mt Parnassus
Spain Alpajurras and Picos de Europa
Morocco Chefchauen and the Rif mountains
Norway Besseggen Ridge and Lofoten Islands
Scotland The Cuillins on the Isle of Skye.
These expeditions have without exception been most enjoyable. We’ve had wonderful trekking experiences sometimes on very challenging mountains. On these trips there have also been many opportunities to encounter local communities and experience diverse cultures.
These holidays are eagerly anticipated and invariably there is a very good level of member participation.
